Jumanji was a popular film that featured Robin Williams in which a couple of kids go on a magical adventure when they find a board game up in the attic of an old mansion. It is no ordinary game though, as each spin creates monsters and teleports the players to far off worlds. The only way to escape is for the players to finish the game by making it to the final square.
Sony is looking to expand upon this film by releasing their new title called “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”. The movie is set to feature Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and is going to put a few new twists into the beloved classic.
The movie will begin with a small group of high schoolers that get sent to detention. As part of their punishment they get ordered to clean out the basement of the school, and that is where they find a very old video game console. The console features the game Jumanji, and the players take it home and plug it in. The teens each create their own character and quickly learn that their creations become a reality when they are shifted into a jungle world.
There will be some entertaining scenes in this movie as the teenage girl’s character is a male that gets played by Jack Black, and the nerdy teen’s character is the big and muscular Dwayne Johnson. We will get to see both of these actors playing parts that are far from what they would normally do.
That’s about all the information that has currently been released for the new title. It will come out in theaters on December 22nd later this year so keep your eyes peeled for it.
